CPR Classes

CPR for Family and Friends is a course for the layperson who is interested in learning basic CPR and choking rescue. Heartsaver is for the lay person who needs a certification for a job requirement. It may include adult, and or child/infant CPR and choking rescue. Healthcare Provider is for (Physician, Nurse, EMS) and includes adult, Child and infant CPR and choking rescue as well as use of AED.

Safe Sitter Class

The Safe Sitter Program is a medically accurate instructional series that teaches young adolescents how to handle emergencies when caring for younger children.

Pediatric First Aid and CPR

This course covers the special needs of children and infancy under 8 years of age. This course is designed for foster parents, day care workers, teachers and new parents.

Heartsaver First Aid 
Heartsaver First Aid is a first aid course designed for industry to meet OSHA requirement and may include CPR, AED training and Environmental First Aid.  The course covers common workplace injuries and illness.

Volunteer Auxiliary

The hospital has an active Volunteer Auxiliary which provides and sponsors many valuable services for the patients and the employees at the hospital.   Volunteers assist throughout the hospital, delivering flowers, distributing mail, and assisting in patient care areas.

There are lots of ways you can help at the hospital, and you don’t have to commit a lot of time. Our volunteers generally work a four-hour shift, but other time frames are available. There are opportunities to volunteer during the day, evenings and weekends in areas including:  

  • Healthplex at Memorial
  • C.A.R.E. unit
  • Day Surgery department
  • GI/GU Department
  • Emergency department
  • Second or third floor
  • Radiology department

Johnnie Masters Gift Shop

The Volunteer Auxiliary operates the Johnnie Masters GIft Shop.  The gift shop is open from 8am to 4pm, Monday through Friday.  The gift shop is located in the main lobby of the hospital.  All proceeds from the gift shop benefit programs at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital and also provide scholarships for the hospital staff.  For more information on the Johnnie Masters Gift Shop please call 903-439-4062.
