CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital—Sulphur Springs, a 96 bed facility, has served the citizens of Hopkins county since 1949. The hospital joined the CHRISTUS Health system in July, 2016 to ensure the hospital has the resources to continue to meet the medical needs of our community.
CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital – Sulphur Springs’ mission is to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ. Our team is dedicated to providing medical care to the 30,000 residents who live within the 800 square miles of Hopkins County and neighboring counties.
Supported by a staff of more than 40 physicians, CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital—Sulphur Springs offers a wide spectrum of services including a full service emergency department that is staffed 24 hours a day and a mobile intensive care ambulance service. Other specialty services include inpatient and outpatient surgery, diagnostic imaging, intensive care, pathology, obstetrics, orthopaedics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, respiratory therapy, urology and wound care.
Physicians on the medical staff also specialize in cardiology, gastroenterology, general surgery, oncology, orthopaedics, pulmonology, and urology. Other inpatient services include a 10-bed inpatient rehab unit. Other outpatient services include sleep studies, nuclear stress testing and pulmonary function. An outpatient Wound Care Center offers the community a comprehensive center for wound care and hyperbaric medicine. The Emergency Department is staffed with physicians/midlevels from CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances physician group.
CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital—Sulphur Springs offers a full range of cardiac services to the citizens of Hopkins County through a partnership with Advanced Heart Care. The cath lab offers diagnostic procedures, interventional cardiac procedures including angioplasty and placement of stents to help open blockages in the coronary arteries.
CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic—Sulphur Springs and CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic—Emory, allows the health system to ensure that physicians and high quality caregivers can provide this care outside the hospital. Providers include care by Family Medicine physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners and specialists including ENT, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics, Orthpaedics, Nurse Midwifery, General Surgery and Urology.
In 2013 we partnered with Access Physicians to provide telemedicine, neurology and pulmonology services, including ICU/Critical Care. CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital—Sulphur Springs began a Family Residency Program in coordination with UT Health System in Tyler with the first residents starting the fall of 2016.
